Established in 1952, Madras Printers & Lithographers Association (MPLA) has been instrumental in the formation of All India federation of Master Printers in New Delhi. Over sixty years from its inception, the association has been relentlessly focusing on the development of the SMEs in the region.
MPLA has 760 active members while there are about 2500 printing units in the Chennai region alone. “We are taking adequate measures on a continuous basis to increase the new enrolments, said S.Ponraj, President, MPLA. “We, the members who are running printing presses have been providing job opportunities for the unemployed people by imparting requisite training. The exhibitions conducted by us have been open to all public free of cost so that the industries also grow and help in building a strong foundation for the nation to soar beyond the horizon,” he added.
The association mainly focuses on disseminating the updated information to the general public and people in the field of printing. MPLA also conducts a lot of programs to help its members and people involved in the business to adapt themselves to the technological advancements in the industry.
MPLA brings out a magazine in the name of “Coramandal printer” every month.
